AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Class (Virtual)

Content

The Advanced Course applies advanced principles of fetal heart monitoring to practice. The instructional methodology used is didactic presentation. The lecture session presents cognitive principles through case studies and includes opportunity for discussion and collaborative communication. Each case illustrates one or more specific principles or issues related to fetal monitoring. The discussion format allows engagement by participants with emphasis on assessment of key information, identification of risk factors and problems, interpretation of tracing characteristics, selection of clinically appropriate interventions, and evaluation of maternal and fetal responses. Collegial communication of critical clinical information is emphasized.

Continuing Education Credit

A total of 7 continuing nursing education (CNE) or 7 hours of continuing medical

education credit (CME) will be awarded to those who attend and participate in the entire course.

Pharmacology content is 0.75 hours of the 7 nursing contact hours for this course.

AWHONN is accredited with distinction as a provider of continuing education in

nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

AWHONN is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, a Provider #CEP580.
