What More Whole-Person Care Means for You
-
More Access
If approved by the State, additional beds would expand access to high-acuity, whole-person care and bring more advanced services closer to home for families across Buncombe, Graham, Madison and Yancey counties.
-
More Innovation
As part of AdventHealth’s nationally recognized faith-based, not-for-profit health system, we are bringing more advanced technology, clinical expertise and compassionate care to WNC. We'll continue expanding services based on what our community needs most.
-
More Compassion
We are rooted in our mission to extend Christ’s healing ministry, caring for each person with compassion and respect for body, mind and spirit.
Healing goes beyond treatment. It centers on people feeling seen, heard and supported.
-
More Choice
Choice strengthens communities by encouraging innovation, improving access and keeping care centered on the people it serves. We’re responding to the community’s call by expanding access to care that aligns with their needs and their vision for whole-person health.
About Our Certificate of Need Application
We believe Western North Carolina deserves more access to high-quality care close to home. The vision for AdventHealth Weaverville was not designed in a boardroom. It's being shaped by the voices of the people we serve.
What you've seen in renderings and what is taking shape as we begin construction is based on what our teams have heard from you as they travel across Buncombe, Graham, Madison and Yancey counties. Listening to community leaders, nonprofit partners and families about what they need most from their health care system has brought us to this point. And we will continue to shape this new hospital on the clear message you are sharing: people want expanded services, advanced care and trusted health partners closer to home.
AdventHealth's commitment to serving Western North Carolina remains unchanged. We are deeply grateful for the community’s continued support throughout this journey, and we are fully invested in advocating for the people of Buncombe, Graham, Madison and Yancey counties.
Given recent concerns about health care access and quality in our region, we do not believe the decision to award additional beds to other health systems is in our community's best interest, and will have profound impacts. We are evaluating appeal options that honor the community's needs and voice. Phase one of AdventHealth Weaverville is currently under construction. Additional phases of inpatient beds are vital to the vision of offering advanced trauma and tertiary care closer to home.
Reach out to our team today to stay engaged and help shape the future of care in our region.
Investing in Our Communities
In 2025, AdventHealth Hendersonville invested more than $62 million in community benefit initiatives across Western North Carolina, including charity care, health research and partnerships addressing mental health, substance misuse, food insecurity and housing.
As a faith-based, not-for-profit health system, we reinvest resources into the communities we serve to expand access to care, support prevention and strengthen local partnerships. This work includes:
- Supporting community partners to address mental and behavioral health issues
- Increasing our investments in improving community health
- Pioneering new treatments and investing in the latest technologies
- Recruiting leading physicians and training future health care leaders
We look forward to expanding our role in the community through our new hospital.
Honored to Care for You Like Family
We believe you deserve more than just care — you deserve to be cared for like family. That’s why we put people before profits and lead with compassion in everything we do.
Our whole-person care approach means we see you as more than a patient. We care for your body, mind and spirit, because healing happens when all three are supported. This commitment to compassionate, high-quality care consistently places AdventHealth hospitals among national leaders in patient safety and experience.
We believe you deserve more trust. More connection. More healing. And we’re here to deliver it — every day, for every person who walks through our doors.

Our legacy of compassion, clinical excellence and community partnership has prepared us to meet this moment — and to bring something more to Buncombe, Graham, Madison and Yancey counties.
With the proposed additional beds for our new hospital in Weaverville, we’re not just expanding — we’re transforming what health care can look like for this region. As part of the largest faith-based health system in the United States, AdventHealth brings unmatched resources, innovation and a deep understanding of what it means to care for the body, mind and spirit. This new hospital will deliver on the promise of more: more access through meaningful choice, more speed in meeting urgent community needs, more scale to balance the region’s health care landscape and more scope to provide high-acuity services.

Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ
At AdventHealth, our mission calls us to be Christ's hands and feet in helping people feel whole. This mission is rooted in faith and guides how we care for every person with compassion, dignity and respect. Together, they provide whole-person care to more than 9 million people each year through 2,000+ care sites — including hospitals, physician practices, outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, home health agencies, hospice centers and digital tools like the AdventHealth app.
You Deserve More, and Together, We Can Build It
