Cigna Healthcare of Texas Contract Negotiation

An Important Update About Your Cigna Coverage

At AdventHealth, we know how important it is to keep seeing the clinicians and specialists who know you, understand your health history and have earned your trust. That is why we want to explain what a recent change in coverage means for your care and the steps you can take.

AdventHealth Central Texas and AdventHealth Rollins Brook are now out-of-network with Cigna Healthcare as of October 1, 2026. Cigna has terminated its contract with both hospitals after demanding significant rate changes that would impact our ability to provide the accessible, high-quality care our communities deserve.

What You Need to Know:

Because Cigna forced AdventHealth Central Texas and AdventHealth Rollins Brook out of its network, you will most likely now face higher costs for non-emergency care at these locations. Cigna’s decision may also require you to find a new in-network doctor or hospital and travel farther from home for care.

Emergency care at AdventHealth will always remain available regardless of your insurance or network status. Patients receiving certain ongoing treatments may also qualify for Continuity of Care and continued in-network benefits through Cigna. Contact Cigna directly to confirm whether you qualify.

Why Did This Happen?

Like health systems across the country, AdventHealth is navigating rising costs for staffing, supplies, technology and growing needs in our communities. We worked hard to reach a new agreement with Cigna that would protect patient access and reflect the cost of providing high-quality care. Unfortunately, the rate changes they are requiring would greatly affect our ability to provide the high-quality care our patients and communities rely on. We remain committed to reaching a reasonable agreement that restores in-network access.
